His best range is medium since he's got hella range on his d-tilt. Once you get in, try not to just hit a smash but if you notice I'm shielding make sure you get that grab. Mario has better frame data than Ridley so make use of that when you manage to close the distance. Ridley's nair isn't safe on block so try and punish it with either a tilt or chase me down and grab me.
