The FBI were tipped off after a 6 month investigation that they were about to commit an attack after they bought pipe bombs where they said they were about to bring destruction to society. I'm not sure why the FBI needed to be "tipped off"? She was exchanging letters w/ Dylann Roof talking about this stuff.
