I never understood the "pride" in being born with a paticular skin color. You did absolutely nothing to be born that way, and should instead be proud of your actual accomplishments.

with black pride, "pride" is understood to mean the opposite of "shame."

white people have never been marginalized, so there's no historical context there other than white supremacy
