im talking about x-2 there are multiple endings to x-2 personally i think the normal ending is the best one
I thought about this when I played the remaster earlier this year. X-2 is a game about leaving the past behind. For Spira as a place, and for Yuna personally. She knows Tidus is gone, and he can't come back now that the fayth all left. But when she gets a vague hint that he *might* still be alive it kicks off a whole adventure. She spends the whole game coming to grips with the fact you can't go back to how things were and trying to is destructive.
Until the good ending of course, where the fayth in the farplane are like "yeah we can bring him back. You wanna?". It feels cheap and it definitely cheapens Yuna's considerable growth she had over the game. At least you can tell the fayth no and get the normal ending.
i agree the ending is best when it ends on the line "this is my story, it'll be a good one" ---
