| Topic | Funny how Smash Bros. can do literally what I got warned for (spirit battle) |
| Nuffinz0rz 12/08/18 10:30:34 PM #1: | For those who are unaware, I was once warned for allegedly comparing a black person to a gorilla, something which I of course had zero intention behind the meme that was posted. For those who are unaware, "spirit battles" in SSBU are basically "homages" to games where they try and make it feel like you're fighting something that isn't actually a fighter in the game. Example, Shedinja. Obviously not a fighter in Smash Bros. But they set a fighter (Mr. Game & Watch, because it has a color palatte close to Shedinja's) to 1 HP and give it almost constant invincibility and a projectile reflector. So naturally, like Shedinja in Pokemon, you just need the one hit. In this case, the spirit battle opponent was Mr. Sandman from Punch Out!. For those unaware, he is a black guy. Now, which Smash fighter does Nintendo use to represent aforementioned black man? Donkey Kong. How long before this unwarranted racism is patched out of this thoughtless game? --- ...
