Technically, I think you're already seeing this with Zelda as well. IIRC, Miaymoto isn't very involved with Zelda anymore and has pretty much left it in Eiji Aonumas hands for the better part of two decades now. I'm not even sure how hands on he's been with Mario. --- America is a tune.
