Humanity as a whole has a tendency to prefer to forget that bad things are done by other humans like them, because it's easier than staring into one's own darkness. I've said it before, but a lot of people knock the concept of "rape culture" as "a society that promotes rape", and that's not what I believe it is. Rape culture in my mind is a society that hates rape so much that they'd rather believe it doesn't happen than acknowledge it, because that would be admitting that such horrible things could be done by our own fellow otherwise upstanding humans, which leads to bad policy decisions and bad case decisions. --- CyricZ ...
