Kevin Hart's whole thing is that he's ridiculous in responses and "honest". Furthermore, since his audience is largely black, mild homophobia isn't seen as much of a bad thing. A charitable interpretation of the joke is him being honest about his relative discomfort with homosexuality. Him knocking over two kids because one boy his grinding on his kid an the corduroys makes a grrrr sound is hilarious.

I dunno though. As someone who grew up with a lot of black people, the fact of the matter is that joke is just "real". It speaks to the audience, because "that shit is gay" is just one of those lines that is part of our culture. It's not compatible with mainstream sensibilities, but comedy doesn't have to be.
