When you subscribe to an extreme agenda that would no way stand up to scrutiny if properly debated, the only way you can possibly hope to grow it is by equating the slightest questioning with the polar opposite, so those who follow it or are being indoctrinated into it are never pushed to consider how valid the agenda may actually be. It's how the far-left works. It's how the alt-right works. It's how conspiracy nut movements work. Even libertarianism, generally one of the least obnoxious not-very-well-thought-out movements, shows mild signs of it. --- I am the master of the fart.
