I thought we rejected the "one drop rule" several generations ago...

I mean most black slave descendants America have white ancestors all through their family lines, for obvious and uncomfortable reasons. I don't think we started passing anti-miscegenation laws to prevent racial intermarriage for like a couple decades after slavery was abolished.

That said, the one-drop-rule was more commonly used by white supremacists to ostracize people appeared white, but whose whiteness was sullied by having a non-white ancestry somewhere in the family tree. To what extent that's in vogue waxes and wanes with the strength of reactionary politics of the time. For example, if you look at the Alt Right's 'White Genocide' fearmongering, you can see the literal one-drop-rule's intellectual DNA woven all through that narrative. The one-drop-rule is back now with a distressing force.

The only difference between then and now is that those people now believe interracial marriage and the like is actually a cultural weapon masterminded by globalists (Jewish people) intent to destroy 'whiteness' by 'diluting' it with other races.
