If you're pardoned, you can't incriminate yourself, which means you have no grounds to refuse to testify. One thing I've heard suggested in the past is that if they get pardoned, they can just plead the 5th on everything until they get hit with a contempt of court charge, and then Trump would just pardon that like he did with Joe Arpaio last year.
