It's that they went out of their way to say that she'd be the most powerful character and could move worlds. Imagine if they had done that with Black Panther or with their first LGBT protagonist. That is absolutely fishing for brownie points; i.e. a political move. But they didn't because Black Panther is not as powerful. Male characters have been called very strong.
