If you lower your standards and let a girl you're involved with do this and don't call her out on her bullshit she'll at least think you're okay and worth keeping a hold of, even if she doesn't really care about you. Sadly too many females are superficial and vain and America's culture of pampering them, pardoning their trangressions and not holding them entirely accountable for their actions doesn't really help them grow as individuals and just enables them.
