er, sanders didn't ignore black women? he limited his campaign expenditures on the deep south, mainly because he knew he would make little headway there, and because (whether he admitted it or not) he knew he would not win a majority of votes in the primary, or anything near it. i always will believe he was smart enough to know he was fighting to pull clinton to the left, and smart enough to know he couldn't just SAY that.

black women had long since chosen hillary well before his candidacy was even announced, and it is definitely true that they'll choose the 2020 nominee, given the proportion of the dem electorate that they comprise.

it's not really a fault of black women that they chose hillary, either. her story resonates with them, she's a known champion to them. she made sense. the party was foolish to throw support behind her so early--her victory in a primary that didn't have their pledged support was already assured. that hurt them in the general.

but the dem primary was always going to be hers, and the next one will be that of someone who resonates with black women as well

i hope that someone is a strong candidate for the general. and i hope that someone champions progressive ideas.

and i hope that someone is not hillary clinton again.
