False accusations are absolutely a real thing, but I don't think they've reached epidemic levels to warrant this level of paranoia. The actual rate doesn't have to reach epidemic levels. They're taking precautions because the risk to their livelihood is so dis-proportionally extreme. No matter how small the chance. The incentives to falsely accuse someone is at a high point in the wake of #MeToo hysteria. And there's weaker standards for an accuser to make their case, because the #MeToo moral panic makes it appear as if there is an epidemic, and people forget that every accusation must be scrutinized. --- MAGA ...
