idk, being on lower firmwares for game systems is better because it's easier to allow entry to custom firmware. If you don't care about that then updates are vaguely better but even that depends because updates have crashed even casual user's devices.


Thats why I say on the whole.

People wanting custom firmware is a very niche thing and it only affects them.

Computers/Software being out of date has lead to most of the major data breaches we have had this decade.

Oh, business computers/software need to be updated for sure. The consumer end is where it gets iffy since updates can mess up even a casual user's patterns. However, if you're not using custom firmware and the like for the most part you're right that you shouldn't be too out of date.
