Real talk, I can't tell if it's simply a new generation if kiddies that need to be taught the value of free speech (and frankly, rational consistent thought) or if it's nihilistic anti-American radical leftists that are simply gas-lighting everyone that isn't garbage on civil rights.
So what I'm gathering from your views expressed in this topic, you seem to want:
More legal protection under freedom of speech for nazis, racists, bigots etc. so that they are free to express hateful views...
And you're also against violence, so nazis, racists, bigots etc. are more protected against vigilante justice.
So nazis should have the freedom to openly be nazis and violence against nazis should be condemned. Nazis shouldn't have to fear the law when expressing their views and nazis shouldn't have to fear vigilante violence for expressing their views.

So sarcasm aside, what legislation would you want proposed to combat nazis? Should we make it illegal to have those views openly?
Should we give people a legal defense if they harm one ? What if they accidentally kill one?
What precedent do you think this would set legally for the future?

Dude how is it a "gotcha?" If someone hits someone in the face, they're either being arrested or they're not. And if they're not in trouble for it, then it's going to create legal precedent. That's how the judicial system works.
