They sure as hell didn't in my family. That is disconcerting. I regret to hear that such negativity was conveyed in Jesus's name. That's the name of the game in Christianity. Believe what I believe and live as I tell you to live or you will rot burn and suffer in eternal hellfire. Ah, but for those who interpret the scriptures that way, it isn't a matter of their own desires. Rather, it is what they believe the Lord demands that they communicate, and they spread such a message through the Great Commission. Regardless, the truth is that Jesus will not reject any who do not reject him. Well let me tell you something, people like that is the main thing that made me go from a devoutly religious kid to a jaded atheist adult with nothing but hate for the church and disdain of christians.
