Oh my god, this topic again.

It's like people don't realize that two people can do something wrong at the same time.

So was the kid supposed to take the slurs and smile?

As opposed to physically attacking the shithead? Yes.

He didn't have to smile though, or even say nothing. Call him out for the dumb nazi that he is and don't give him any more recognition than that.

Wow.

Guy with nazi uniform can scream slurs at black dude and black dude has to take it. Hey I guess youre being a nice centrist since he didnt have to smile!!!

"It's bad to assault people who are insulting you" is not a centrist position.

Rightist: Nazi kid can dress as a Nazi and call the kid the n word and the kid must smile and take it, he should learn his place!

Leftist: he Nazi kid deserved to get punched, that will teach him not to dress like a Nazi and call other people racial slurs!

Centrist : Gee, punching people is bad! Why are leftists so violent! The other kid should have taken the racial slurs stoically and waited until the Nazi kid is done insulting him, but he doesnt have to smile! See guys? Middle ground!

See, the reason you think I'm a centrist, is because you mistakenly believe that I've taken some "middle position" that you've fabricated all on your own. In reality, I take two decidedly non-centrist positions regarding two distinct situations that are occurring in tandem. The first situation: Someone calls someone racial slurs. I think that's a bad thing to do, which is not a centrist position to take. The second situation: Someone punches someone for calling them racial slurs. I think that's a bad thing to do as well, and that's also not a centrist position to take.
