I wonder if the real reason tumblr's purging porn this time, is because the NSFW cockblock screen didn't actually drive much new user signups.
Anything that gets between a user and content will drive only bounces and publicly-shared workarounds. Just change your useragent to "googlebot", and tumblr lets you right on in to look at whatever depravity hasn't been deleted yet.

Sites do this to themselves, but sticking annoying "View in app! Please?" buttons all over their mobile sites, in a desperate attempt for clickbait 'push' notifications, and to shove even more surveillance and ads at us.
