Pretty much. A lot of people complain about being hassled by cops, but in the back of my mind I'm always like "Well, who were you with at the time? What were you doing?" I can't speak for racial profiling or how cops differ in America on average, but I've never had any issues. My interactions with cops have basically been limited to:

"Have you had anything to drink tonight sir?" - At checkstops.

"Have you seen any *insert suspicious activity or persons here*" - When I used to walk alone at night during the summer for something to do, to clear my head, whatever.

Every time I just answer their questions and they tell me to have a good night and then they leave. I don't doubt that some are corrupt/power tripping/bad dudes in general, but I tend to think that those are in the minority.
