Darmik 11/27/18 5:29:30 PM #12:	NES4EVER posted... We already had a DVD player for about 3 years by the time I got a PS2 (2001). I bought my PS3 to play games mainly (my PS1 and PS2 titles as well). I DID however convince my parents to purchase a PS3 to play Blu-Rays, so that we would have a video game system in the living room. At the time Blu-Ray players were like $400 and the PS3 was $450, so it was an easy sell. I also told my parents they could load their favorite CD's into the hard drive.
