Sonic, Mega Man, Cloud, Sephiroth, and Crono have are all 20+ years past their heyday and their still among the strongest contests have to offer. I'm in the minority, but I got into Mega Man through Mega Man 64, Mega Man Battle Network, and Mega Man Xtreme, which all released around the same time. I made sure to play the NES games afterwards because I loved all the other ones I played. Cloud sonic and MM are in smash.
