I certainly know the Mew Glitch transfers fine, I used it to catch all 151 Pokemon in the VC Red before beating my 4th gym, and I transferred them with no problem.

As someone looking to start VC Blue soon, hows the Mew bit work? My son and I have all the versions between us so thats the only one I would need to glitch.

Require:
- A Pokemon with a teleporting move (like... Teleport, Dig, Fly... I guess Escape Rope works too)
- A trainer with long-range vision (they can see you from the farthest map length in the screen, just as you see them)
- Another whatever trainer to fight, must have at least 1 space of distance between them and a position they can spot you at

Method:
- (save first, you might miss your timing!)
- Find the trainer with long ranged vision, and walk off to where they're facing but 1 step out of their vision so they can't see you and you can't see them yet)
- Make that one step into their vision and open up your menu before the screen loads the trainer
- Make your escape (Teleport, Dig, Fly, Rope)
- When the menu closes to make the escape animation, first the trainer will finally spot you and try to start the battle... but instead of battling you will just do you Fly or whatever
- After you've escaped, you'll find that you can't open your menu anymore, or get into wild battles!
- To fix this you need to get into battle with the second trainer! Go do that
- As mentioned, fight the 2nd trainer by stepping at least 1 space away so they have to walk towards you
- After the battle your buttons will be restored, use your escape to go back to the Pokemon Center again, and make your way back to towards the first, long-range trainer
- On your way to that trainer, once you change routes (ie change from Cerulean to Route 25), your menu will open up.
- Once you close the menu, a battle will start with a "random" (not random) wild pokemon

Manipulation:
- The "wild" Pokemon is dependant on the last Pokemon battled (typically, the last Pokemon of the 2nd Trainer)
- It doesn't *have* to be the 2nd Trainer's last Pokemon, you can go fight a wild Pokemon after that, and that will be the last Pokemon battled until you finish the glitch (or another Pokemon you fight after that)
- Ditto are wild east of Fuschia, so you can use Ditto to manipulate the last Pokemon battled to something you can control (your own Pokemon)
- The ID/species of the wild Pokemon is dependant of the Special stat of the last Pokemon battled
- The wild Pokemon's level is dependant on the attack modifier of the last Pokemon battled... aka if they've been Growl'd. Default is 7, six (max) stage-downs brings it 1, six (max) stage-ups brings it to 13. This isn't really useful other than for the Experience Underflow Glitch to get the Pokemon easily to level 100. However if you're not prepared for the experience underflow glitch you might freeze your PC box with a level 1 Pokemon

Summary
- (save first!)
- Get into view of long-range trainer, open menu & escape (Fly, etc)
- Battle 2nd trainer with a space between to fix your menu
- Control your first Pokemon to a manipulator - one with a Special stat corresponding to the Pokemon you want
- ref: https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/List_of_Pok%C3%A9mon_by_index_number_(Generation_I)
- Battle ditto, have it turn into your Manipulator
- OPTIONAL: use Growl, or let Ditto raise his attack to manipulate level (don't catch Ditto in this case)... not much reason unless doing experience underflow
- Fly/escape towards the first, long-range trainer.
- Menu opens on route change, close menu to battle your Mew Glitch'd Pokemon!
