Letting this caravan in because they demand to be let it is de facto open borders.

I'm sorry you don't like the phrase "open borders" but what else should it be called?

If they're coming here to request asylum, which is one of the legal avenues for entry into the country, it isn't exactly open border policy. I'm not saying we should let them all in, I'm saying they should all be vetted, processed, and go through the entire process and either be granted entry or denied entry.

Mexico offered them asylum, but they refused. They demand the US let them in or no dice.

Actually thousands did accept Mexico's offer.

If Mexico offered them all asylum, what claim do the people who refused have for asylum in the US?

Maybe the fact they want to come to the US is why they aren't staying somewhere else?
