MeIon Bread posted... The reason I said that Germany only existed from 1871 onwards is because...it's true. The region was originally a bunch of nation states, and further back still, an administrative district of the Holy Roman Empire. It wasn't actually a country until 1871, although I'm sure people will try and make out otherwise. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_of_Germany "Germany" was a place before the German Empire.
