Ball spoke with THR for a new interview talking about the show in honor of its tenth anniversary and revealed that series composer Nathan Barr is working on a musical. Theyre workshopping a True Blood musical. Ive heard all the music and its actually pretty good, he said. It tells the story of vampires coming out of the closet and this love story, and then ultimately it [diverts] from the book series and they end up going back into the closet. Ball also noted in the interview that Benedict Cumberbatch auditioned for Bill Compton, ultimately played by Stephen Moyer, and Jessica Chastain read for the lead role of Sookie Stackhouse.
