literary equivalent to something like Fahrenheit 451 in comic book form.

I can think of several graphic novels and comic stories that I'd put up with some books

Yet The Avengers is infinitely more well known and popular in American culture than Fahrenheit 451. So much so that book stores are becoming extinct yet Hollywood keeps pumping out this comic book trash and they keep making billions.

That is scary.

Fun things sell more and are more appealing than unfun things. Who would have guessed?

The fact that Americans adults find stories for kids more entertaining than thought provoking novels which are meant for adults is exactly what Bill Maher was talking in his blog post.
