The last month or so, and to a a lesser extent, the last 3 or 4 months, I've seen (and been involved in) some rather heated conversations. People seem rather angry or upset or hateful or disturbed. What I'm saying is, people are taking stuff really seriously on this board recently.

Of course, it's hard to guage how upset someone is from words on a screen. Without body language, or tone of voice, or whatever, you can't tell exactly. But judging from the actual content, and things like all caps and bolding words, people are genuinely losing their tempers with each other, and feeling strong emotions in certain topics. Is everything alright, CE? Also, we've had some proper meltdowns, like Gogglator getting banned, and possibly some other things, too.

What's going on? People used to be reasonably detached posting here, and although we sometimes rubbed each other up the wrong way, things didn't get too bad...most of the time. Why are people getting so emotional? Are tempers getting worse? It's good, having said all THAT, that people are taking things seriously on CE, because the last few years, it sometimes seemed like people didn't care much. But why be negative? Why the aggro, or the threats, or the slightly unhinged from anger responses to posts?

Am I just imagining all this? Or perhaps, clicking on the wrong topics?
