Mario needs to face cloud somehow this contest to beat him for real.

Not happening. Not only would Mario lose horribly in at least a 60-40 affair, but were not even gonna get that match opportunity, since hes slated to face Sephiroth, someone who has repeatedly swept him in exactly that manner for years, in his first dang match.

Lol at thinking Sephiroth is actually going to beat Mario. Clearly you dont understand how far hes fallen.

Also because he won past matchups means he will win again? That logic worked out well for the Bowser vs Charizard rematch.

Regardless of how horrible 2013 ended up being for Clinkeroth, its still pretty evident that Squaresoft has gotten a considerable strength resurgence thanks to a contest-wide trend of grudge-bearing for that contests outcome (Draven himself being anti-voted almost to single digits for the sake of a Capcom character from 2006), directly aided by both the Bourbon Restoration and a fastly shrinking frequency of outside traffic to this site. Bowser vs Charizards outcome was a direct result of these trends: people getting really upset at how Cloud got taken down by Squirtle of all characters, how Mega Man nearly lost to Charizard, and how the board had to resort to rallying behind that strength and abandoning Sephiroth as a consequence, yet still ended up losing to Draven.

Plus, 2013 ended up also being an embarassment for Mario at the hands of Vivi, something that SquareFAQs probably enjoyed seeing except perhaps for the part where it was delivered to them through a 4chan rally (which is insanely odd to me, since /v/ is infamous for declaring use of other non-4chan websites as a crime punishable by death), and also maybe that Ganondorf leech. Its something people would find more funny than humiliating, unlike Clouds loss to Squirtle, or Sephiroth being arbitrarily forced to re-earn his spot in the Noble Nine this contest despite being a member of the Clinkeroth triumvirate instead of someone whom re-earning that spot would mean something for them, like Crono or Sonic, because of SBAllens arbitrary decision to not have more than one fixed nominee a game represented in the finals.
