Your second amendment is utterly baffling. If you were to have a war over a perceived "right" to ownership and started killing each other over it, surely it would prove that you're not responsible enough to possess firearms in the first place.

As it stands, they're a safety blanket. For all the talk over how the second amendment is there to prevent tyranny, you've been collectively fucked by corporations and government for at least 100 years and done jack shit about it aside from buy more firearms and screech about how they're there to protect you from being fucked by the state.

Just say: "We like guns in the way a child likes its favourite toy, we perhaps shouldn't have been allowed them, but it's too late now - you're not going to turn us into Switzerland."

Your two main parties make too much legislative and political hay over the issue to give it up, too much money is made from their sale and advertising and for some bizarre reason you seem to think you're still settling the frontier. They didn't really think this one through in the 1770's.
