She's gorgeous and she was really in to me. She's smart, kind, and we both resonated on a lot of things. She's a homebody like me who wasn't into going out for drinks and we breathed a mutual sigh of relief when we both dropped the charade and admitted we were losers. I did something I had never done before and instead asked her out on a date (with legitimate intent this time) to go see a movie.

I was 100% ready for this. It was an incredible feeling. I was really proud of myself for how far I've grown from the socially anxious nervous wreck I've been my whole adult life.

Then, just one day before our date, she did the right thing and let me know that she is married and has herpes.

I just have so many mixed emotions right now. I'm proud of myself for really growing up and taking on an assertive role and coming out of my shell, but it deeply disappoints me that I don't have the chance to put it into action anymore.
