I'm glad there weren't giant social networking sites when I was a kid. Myspace started when I was 17. lol

People can and do seem to reflexively post whatever ridiculous ideas enter their minds before reflecting on it all.


yeah i know what you mean. also nothing comes back to haunt me from those days because we were still using anonymous handles. back then it was still taboo to tie your name onto accounts- facebook did a lot to change that unfortunately.

oh well, considering stuff comes back to fuck people over from 7+ years ago (because society is on a rapid change trajectory) i can only imagine this will keep happening and probably be even more severe for younger people that haven't fully adopted ephemeral social media.

but really almost all social media is set up to give users micro rewards of dopamine for gathering attention because attention = ads = profit for whatever platform.
