I'm pretty sure I have an old tweet somewhere where I basically say that I view Avenatti as a left-wing version of Trump (in the sense that he does things to dominate the news cycle that few other people do, to the point of unnecessary showboating).

So...my views on him were not exactly positive.

But like...what we used to think of him shouldn't even matter. Sure, he didn't have a sterling reputation in my eyes anyway. But sometimes sexual predators DO have sterling public images. (Bill Cosby jumps to mind). If decades ago you used to think of Bill Cosby as this upstanding very moral guy, that's fine, you probably didn't see any evidence to the contrary.

I only have a low opinion of you if you refuse to change your mind in the face of new evidence. Like...someone being supportive of Avenatti a few months ago, sure, that's fine, I might personally not like his tactics, but a month ago I wouldn't be upset with someone for liking him. If someone in here was trying to defend Avenatti today, on the other hand, that would be pretty scummy.
