It seems in recent years people have turned on this game a lot, especially since Breath of the Wild was revealed. I think it's a bit "cool" to dis the established classics since its a bit of a "dad game" as people who grew up with it hit their 30s and 40s.

However to me it's a game that's excellent from top to bottom, it's so tightly designed and whatever flaws it has just make it all the more endearing, time has that effect on art.


i always thought OoT was kind of mediocre but now I just look like a hipster for saying that

like, link's controls are far too stiff, you can't jump except for the little ones he does when Z-targeting, and the game's world would feel a lot better to me if you had more mobility, like in Mario 64. its stiffness is a thing I think a lot of people our age just don't see, while it sticks out like a sore thumb to anyone who didn't play it when it was new

there also weren't any dungeons i enjoyed at all

i had the game on a 3DS cartridge at one point, to try and give it a second shot but just ended up selling it off before I even completed the giant deku tree. I just really didn't want to play it. also the 3D was balls since it was a launch game on 3DS

that being said, I really didn't like any 3D Zelda games until BotW. which I ended up loving to pieces and putting over a hundred hours into
