Topic | What's the worst game from a major publisher? |
SuperNiceDog 11/11/18 4:53:31 PM #33: | Probably E.T(Atari, 1982) for the Atari 2600. Almost single-handedly killed the video game industry in 1983. "it is cited as a major contributing factor to the video game industry crash of 1983," Video game revenues peaked at around $3.2 billion in 1983, then fell to around $100 million by 1985 (a drop of almost 97 percent). The crash was a serious event that brought an abrupt end to what is retrospectively considered the second generation of console video gaming in North America. A 97 percent decline in revenues.... just crazy. It would be similar to if Google stock dropped by 97%. If you were living in 1985 and saw that, you'd think there's no way this video game thing is going to come back. --- GJ BK_Sheikah ... Copied to Clipboard! |
