I agree, in 1998 it really seemed like the most perfectly formed and realised 3D adventure world, and a stunning example of how to reinterpret a 2D franchise into 3D. But the idea that it hasn't aged substantially in the twenty years since, which some people desperately still claim, is equally ludicrous.
