There's no law but they can still subpoena them


For what cause, in this case?

Serious question for anyone who knows. Why will congress subpoena the tax returns for any reason other than "we want to see them"? Is that considered a good enough reason?


To see if he is beholden in any way to a foreign power and to ensure that he has not broken any laws. Just the circumstantial evidence around him should be enough to have his taxes reviewed and then a report made public, at the very least.
