Sacrificing 20 people in order to learn how to control god so they can make it so everyone can live forever or at least blessed lives would have been worth it IF it had actually come to fruition. And he's even been plagued by guilt over it, ultimately resulting in him even understanding why the party came after him the way they did. He's almost sympathetic because of the guilt but the fact he did what he did because another controlled his guilt over the death of somebody else, well... ---
