no it isn't. it serves no useful purpose. there are still 24 hours in the day, you don't *gain* or *lose* an hour

Yet you can still make more use of daylight

change the time you get up, not the time itself

The thing is that when someone wakes up to go to school or work or whatever in the winter time, they would be commuting in complete darkness if we didn't go back one hour. It's not something that is fixed by a personal choice of just deciding to wake up later when everyone else operates on a different clock.
