I played through this. I plan to replay it, mess around a bit, do the secret boss, but I have thoughts.

It was enjoyable. I liked the new battle system a good amount and can easily see how it could be expanded upon. Sparing is in a weird place right now and I don't know how Toby plans to handle it. Everyone is already sold on the gimmick of not killing enemies, but you do kind of want to allow players to do some fighting now.

The cast was good. Susie was by far the best, and I really enjoyed her story. I wish they did a bit more with how she was being treated by those around her, but maybe that'll be saved for the full game. It was touched on a bit still, could go farther.

I didn't like the ending at all. Gaster, whatever, we weren't getting away from him after all of those secrets Toby put in. That can go places. Chara, however, should not be here. Chara doesn't need to be here. He did his thing in Undertale and that is sufficient. He's just not very interesting. It didn't help that the ending was completely divorced from anything else that happened, so it didn't have the impact that it could have. I don't think that was well thought out.

I'll look forward to what this becomes eventually, hoping that it does actually become a full game, and that Toby follows through with his desire to tell a different story from Undertale. I liked those parts of it a lot.
