I keep chickening out. We talk a lot during breaks and seem to connect pretty well. Pretty sure she's single. Problem is there's a severe lack of private time when it's just the two of us, and I'm having this stupid mentality that's making me think it'll be awkward and I don't wanna do it in front of other people. Was gonna do it after work today but she was walking out with another girl from our class who she's getting rides with.

You should've felt out whether she was single or not with some tactical questions.

Either way, just ask if she'd like to hang out after work sometime. Be honest and say you enjoy talking with her, but there's barely any time to have real conversations since there's so many people around.

It's super casual, but she'll know exactly what you mean. If she rejects you, it shouldn't be awkward and you know where you stand. If she doesn't and you guys click as well as you think you do, it should be smooth sailings from there.
