Toby Fox posted a lot of thoughts about Deltarune just a little bit ago: This just solidifies Toby Fox as the American Yoko Taro But it's pretty weird honestly. I thought he had a system for releasing episodes set up for this. If this is really all there is for the next few years, that's kinda crazy. Also, I really didn't want it to be explicitly an AU. There's so many small connections, especially with the ending, it doesn't make much sense. Everything he said makes sense practically though. But then again, he is an absolute master of surprise. It was the main emotion in Undertale and Deltarune has like 10x stronger surprise (not just the ending either, every bit of this was insanely shocking every step of the way).
