Not even 10 posts before someone starts needlessly hating on joestarrr. This place is Sad! smh.

Technically I was mentioned and the post was deleted by the person who made it, said person was antagonizing me and saying I?m a horrible nurse in a previous topic.

Kinda funny given that most of my patients and coworkers don?t think I?m shit ??
I wonder why ?? jk I don?t have to wonder because I bust my ass taking good care of patients and helping my coworkers.

On an unrelated note, out of curiosity, do you believe that there should be a mandate that nurses should have a specified limit to how many patients they can have at one time? Asking because it was a ballot question in my state. Seemed that most nurses were against it so I voted no.

Nurses that don't think they should have patient limits are drinking the koolaid to say the least. California has legally mandated ratios and is the only state to truly do so - others should follow that example. Major professional organizations within the profession have proposed evidence based guidelines as to how many patients a nurse should handle at one time depending on the level of care and specialty.

Given that some research suggests a 7% increase in patient mortality per additional patient above an expected, standard workload - yeah you can bet your ass safe staffing needs to be mandated.
