Dude it wasn't even 20 years your Democratic president was signing in DOMA. LGBT is absolutely a debate. It is not one I agree with, but that is up for them to decide for themselves. If they want to be a Christian country and not recognize homosexuality as a valid way of life then they can choose that for themselves. It is no different than a Muslim country that is a religious nation choosing what they choose to believe.
