And he doesn't act like a regular human being during either of those scenes. Contrast that with all of the murders he commits when he isn't wearing the mask (handyman, whoever died when he escaped the asylum, his sister whom he killed wearing a different mask). just showing that he's not like jason from friday the 13th, he just looks like some guy under the mask. --- People die when they are killed.
