No one worth a damn listening to is claiming the Democrats are going to win the Senate and most are claiming they are likely to lose a seat or two. You wanting to cling to outspoken idiots and typecast them as the norm just speaks more you already seeking a response you want to be true.

Historically the midterms have not been kind to the party of the sitting president. I think its been like 50 years or so since the last time a sitting presidents Party won the mid-terms? Im not 100% sure about that though.

In any event, I suspect that the Democrats will walk away net winners in the midterms, but I absolutely see the possibility of Republicans winning. Though I believe the latter is less likely.
