Also, one thing that people don't seem to understand:

The price for the food is exactly that: the price of the food. The tip is what you pay for the convenience of having food brought out to you and having someone to constantly refill your drinks. It's like complaining about having to pay a delivery fee when you order food.

Why does that and not table service? Why are you drawing the line there?


Because table service has nothing to do with the actual creation of the meal.


So what you meant to say was, "the price of sourcing the ingredients including delivery to restaurant, preparing the ingredients (compensating the chef) and the cost of the ingredients is the price of sourcing the ingredients including delivery to restaurant, preparing the ingredients (compensating the chef) and the cost of the ingredients."

"Price of the food is the price of the food" sounds just like that.
