I don't see how anyone could like Fallout 3's story more than NV's.

"I want to find my mysterious father and in doing so discover dark secrets that result in me saving this entire county from death"

v.s

"Some guy shot me so I'm gonna fuck around lol."

I mean if you prefer the latter then great but to me Zero Puntuation summed it up perfectly:

"everyone seemed to think I wanted to go in pursuit of the bloke who shot my brain, but I'd have thought the fact that he shot me in the brain was a fucking good reason to not pursue the guy."

It's not even like he has your baby or fucked your wife or he's your brother or anything. You're literally a courier and he stole your package.

Imagine if the plot of the next Hollywood movie was that a UPS driver gets mugged and decides to go after the guy who stole his random package for revenge!

Yeah that'll line up next to Civil War Part 2 for sure in excitement.

It's not clear at all in New Vegas who the fuck you are or why you're doing anything other than "This is a video game now jump through hoops." in terms of world-building and atmosphere it's really really bad. The worst of all 5 main games.

I mean as I said the Sierra DLC made up for that some what but the base game itself has nothing story wise. And all of the bad writing in Fallout 4 combined still doesn't measure up to how bad the writing is for the Leigon.
