We've accepted the premise that all of these image hosting sites eventually turn to garbage, but why do people behave as if abandoning them when they do is actually difficult? It isn't. Just start using the next best thing. I still see imgur links here all of the time. Imgur is pretty much just another social site now, in the same pile as instagram and pinterest.
